From a roadside inn to Schlosshotel
This house was built around 1800 as a simple inn at the top of the pass, where travellers between Carinthia and Styria could stop for a rest. It belonged to Prince Schwarzenberg.
In 1954, Prince Schwarzenberg sold the house. The new owners turned it into a small hotel.
Thick walls, bay windows and parlours tell the story of the house. Its rooms were created at different times and still have different layouts.
Rooms with a history of their own
The rooms have plenty of wood and names such as König Ludwig, Erzherzog Johann and Richard Löwenherz. The Sunflower Room is also part of the house.
We maintain and renovate the house on an ongoing basis, preserving the materials and details that give its rooms their character.
